Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) – Dental Care for Refugees & Asylum Claimants
We welcome eligible refugees and asylum claimants covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).
The IFHP provides temporary health-care coverage to eligible refugees, refugee claimants and other protected individuals while they are waiting to obtain provincial or territorial health insurance. Dental coverage under the IFHP includes eligible urgent dental care, subject to the program’s rules, benefit limits and eligibility requirements.
Our dental team can verify your IFHP coverage before treatment and help you understand what services may be covered. Patients must have valid IFHP coverage and receive care from a provider registered with the program.
Please note that, as of May 1, 2026, eligible IFHP beneficiaries are generally responsible for a 30% co-payment for covered supplemental services, including eligible urgent dental care. Patients may also be responsible for costs that exceed the amounts or limits covered by the program.
